One of the basic precepts of the Loyal Order of Moose is that "no institution that labors for self and self alone can remain great and mighty, and serve posterity." Therefore, the two highest degrees conferred on members of the Moose Fraternity are bestowed as a reward for devotion and service to the philanthropic programs of the Order. These are the Fellowship and the Pilgrim Degree of Merit.
When a man is enrolled into the Loyal Order of Moose, he automatically becomes a member of the first degree. As a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, you may be asked to join the Moose Legion, which is the second degree in your advancement within the fraternity. A good standing member becomes eligible for advancement to the Second Degree, ( The Moose Legion Degree of Service ), after he has completed one year of membership and has sponsored one member into the lodge OR has completed six months of membership and sponsored three members in to the lodge.
Only those members, who have shown a genuine desire to help their communities and their Lodge are asked to become Moose Legionnaires. This second degree allows these men another way to serve their fellow man.
The Moose Legion will open many new opportunities to you in your Lodge. Theme parties, sporting events, community service projects and other unique activities for you and your family. Special social activities called Moose Legion Celebrations are scheduled at various Lodges within the membership region of each area Moose Legion.
